    Company notes for the AI

What your team knows that the AI can't: printer names, VPN and Wi-Fi steps, standard apps, the fix you always use. The tech assistant, the help chat and fleet questions read these before giving general advice.

    Investigations

How far the AI digs before it writes a finding, and how long findings are kept.

    Depth

Each pass runs up to this many read-only tools. These limit depth, not what the AI may run.

    Keeping findings

0 turns a step off. A device’s newest finding is never archived.

    Starting by itself

    Help chat

The PC Investigator Help app the agent installs on each computer.

A one-tap question at the top of the help app, answered from 1 (very badly) to 5 (very well). It comes back on this schedule, so each device always shows how its user feels lately: the newest answer replaces the last one. “Not now” asks again a week later. A 1 or 2 lowers the device’s health score and opens a help chat so they can say what’s wrong. The Dashboard shows the average.

    Known vulnerabilities

PC Investigator checks the apps installed on each device against public CVE data from the NVD, which also marks the CVEs on CISA’s list of vulnerabilities known to be exploited. This Hub downloads the data once a day and does the matching itself, so device software lists never leave the Hub.

    NVD API key

Optional. Without one an update takes about 7 minutes, because the NVD limits how often it can be asked. A free key from nvd.nist.gov brings that under a minute.

    Apps that are checked

Only CVEs known to be exploited or rated critical (CVSS 9 or higher) are listed. Matching is by app name and version, so a match is worth confirming before acting. On Linux, distribution packages are skipped because distributions patch old version numbers.
